Dance Screening
Pre-Pointe Assessment
This is an assessment to determine readiness for moving onto pointe work. Brittany has developed a customised assessment tool based on clinical evidence to examine lower limb mobility, strength & stability. The purpose of this assessment is to ensure safety and longevity en pointe; as such, the assessment will guide Brittany to provide individualised advice and exercise prescription based on your needs.
Tertiary Dance Assessment/ Pre-Professional Assessment
This is a specific assessment to determine the body's readiness for the demands of full-time dance or an increase in dance demands. Often requested before commencing a course by the following;
-
John Curtin College of the Arts
-
West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA)
-
New Zealand School of Dance (NZSOD)
-
Queensland University of Technology (QUT)
The assessment looks at specific lower limb mobility & stability against standardised scoring, and Brittany will assess additional evidence-guided strength measurements. Brittany can use the assessment to provide individualised advice and injury prevention exercises if requested.
